Focusing on the diagnosis and care of diseases related to the endocrine glands, hormones, and metabolism
Accurate diagnosis leading to personalized treatment is the hallmark of the UC Davis Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Experience has taught us that two patients with similar symptoms may have entirely different endocrine conditions. Our medical staff includes endocrinologists who specialize in specific conditions, including diabetes, female and male hormone imbalances, osteoporosis and other bone disorders, thyroid cancer, adrenal hormone excesses and deficiencies, high blood pressure caused by endocrine hormones, and other conditions affecting all the endocrine glands or metabolism.
We have 10 consultants board-certified both in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism. We have clinics all over Northern California and even offer telehealth services, meaning we can bring personalized care to you, wherever you are.
Our mission is to provide our patients the most advanced science and technology, in a caring and respectful manner, working as a team with our partners in other disciplines. We are led by our Division Chief, Dr. Jose Joaquin Lado Abeal. Dr. Lado specializes in thyroid diseases, diabetes and neuroendocrinology. He previously served as a tenured professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and director of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Prisma Health-Midlands.
Whether you are seeking everyday health care or need specialty care for a specific medical problem, we are here to help.
